Isaacs opened and closed his mouth as if gasping for air. Then he followed after T'Par, saying to Cade over his shoulder. "Sure, sure, whatever you want." not particularly paying attention as to what he had said to Cade.
[CONTINUED]
"Excuse me, Commander?" Isaacs catching up to T'Par. "Just who are you? And where are you from?"
The dragon, Rystix heard the commotion, caught sight of his friends.
"You have come!" Rystix raising up his head.
Vanya pushed past Isaacs to stand behind and to the side of T'Par. She'd only met the dragon once, and hoped he would consider her one of his friends. "We came to help."
"I'm the Chief Science Officer on the USS Orcrist, sir," T'Par answered Isaacs calmly. "We are here to see Rystix, a being of our acquaintance."
She turned towards the dragon. "Greetings," she said. "We have come."
Admiral Isaacs frowned. the USS Orcrist, the new ship that was brought from the shipyard, to the space dock above Earth.
"I see." was Isaacs only comment though his eyes narrowed at finding out where they were from.
Abner had a grin like that of a cat who ate a canary. He was right to call upon the crew of the ship, the former crew of the USS Majestic. They were capable, and he was happy to see Admiral Isaacs being stonewalled and put in his place.
As for Rystix, he was happy to see his friends, looking one from the other.
"Abner, T'seng, T'Par, Vanya, Tara..." he looked at those whom he didn't know.
T'seng added, "There is Cade, and somewhere is Tahira, and this" gesturing towards Jemimah. "This is Jemimah."
Rystix gave a regal nod towards them as the introductions were being made.
"I am pleased to see you all." Rystix, responded, a puff of steam came from his nostrils, "Can you get me out of here? I had been told that I wasn't supposed to do any harm, so I haven't."
He turned his head towards where Isaacs stood, the admiral shifting uncomfortably.
Onlookers were now being moved out of the tent where Rystix was, someone had decided to clear them out, just in case something might happen.
The one who had done so, called out. "Sir, people have been cleared, and we have secured the entrances."
Isaacs hadn't given the command to do this.
In order to save face, Isaacs nodded. "Good."
"Our intention is to get you out of here," Vanya said, glaring at Isaacs. "How did you get here in the first place?"
Rystix looked over to Isaacs, then back to Vanya. "I was told that there were scientists that were interested in talking to me about who I was, and where I had come from. Instead of going where I thought would be a place for discussion. I found myself here instead. T'seng and also Abner had let me know when we on the Majestic that I needed to be peaceful, as I would not be in the category of being a protector. Therefore, I did not seek to injure others nor to escape."
"Well, you were brought here to do discussions and I thought that it would be wonderful for others to meet someone as unique as you." Isaacs saying this, as if it were all that was needed to be said.
Rystix narrowed his eyes. "You tricked me." a cloud of steam puffing out like a steam locomotive, from the dragon's nostrils.
"I did not." Isaacs responded.
"Where would you like to go, Rystix?" T'Par asked.
"I would like to go somewhere from here. Go home, a place far from here." Rystix responded. "There is a saying humanoids say. Foor me one, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. I will not allow you to fool me again. Admiral Isaacs."
Right after Rystix uttered his words, there was a shimmering which would be recognized as the effects of a transporter. Rystix disappeared.
Isaacs howled out his rage. "Noooo" he whirled around towards T'Par. "You planned this, you--pointy eared--"
There was a secondary shimmering as someone materialized where Rystix had been.
The someone was Vulcan, his eyes looked around, then locked onto T'Par.
"Commander," his voice held no emotion. "I am Commander Sidith, Rystix is now on our ship. We have been charged to take him home. We had been blocked from tracing where he was." turning his dark eyes towards Isaacs.
Vanya turned to Isaacs, too. The admiral had a lot to answer for.
"I am disappointed we will not get more of a chance to speak with him, Commander," T'Par said dispassionately. "Lieutenant Karolyi, please transmit a full account of the last several minutes to Starfleet security."
Vanya nodded. She had every intention of doing just that.
"You will be invited to speak to him. And others if so desired."
"You cannot do this, all of you will be on report. I am an Admiral and all of you are going to be charged with disrespecting rank, and being a group of pirates, and just common trash. Pretending to be Starfleet Officers!" Isaacs roared.
Vanya had enough of the admiral and his blather. She spun around, grabbed the pistachio ice cream cone from Cade, and smashed it into Isaacs' face. "Disrespect this you egotistical blowhard. We ARE Starfleet and you have kidnapped a sentient creature. And once I do a deep dive into your other misdeeds, I'm sure I'll find enough to have you put away for a long time."
JK walked up to Isaacs, to and with her finger took a piece of the ice cream and placed it in her mouth. "Umm, Pistaschio, my favourite." She smiled. "Also, for your information, Admiral, I am anything but common."
Vanya looked around for security. The admiral needed to be taken into custody before he could disappear. There was enough evidence here to at least hold him. That would give her time to see what else she could dig up. Never tick off an intel archivist. They know how to find the bodies.
As if summoned by both T'Par and Vanya, two security personnel stepped up. One was a rather tall broad shouldered man, his hair red his eyes of piercing blue. He came up on one side, The other a Klingon just as tall as the other, came to the other side.
"Admiral Isaacs, you are to come with us." the redhead announced, his voice a deep baritone,
"Who said so." Isaacs responded.
The redhead held out his PADD towards Isaacs,
Isaacs wiped off the ice cream from his face, the pale green dripping onto his uniform.
"That little b--" Isaacs began but was interrupted by the Klingon, taking away the admiral's combadge.
"Sir-enough" both security taking an arm each to lead Isaacs away.
"You will rue the day that you crossed me." Isaacs called out over his shoulder towards the crew from the USS Orcrist.
"I didn't think anyone said rue the day anymore," Vanya said, waving goodbye to the admiral. She had every intention of doing some digging into the intel archives when she got back to the ship to see what she could find on the admiral--besides trying to kidnap a sentient life form.
Then she turned to Cade. "I owe you an ice cream."
"Ok," Cade said with a smile. "I'll hold you to that Lieutenant. And don't be too hard on the Admiral. He's obviously under a lot of stress knowing he's violated at least three Federation Articles and four Fleet protocols in this. It's just fascinating. He's such a brave man too. I'm sure the Courts Martial will clear most of this up."
"I'll be sure they have plenty of supporting evidence." Vanya grinned. She wasn't normally a vindictive person, but this Admiral Popinjay brought it on himself by mistreating the dragon--and others.
One more venomous glare towards the crew from the Orcrist. Then a sly smile crossed his lips. He turned away his walk having jaunty step to it.
T'seng watched as the Admiral was led away then looked at the space where Rystix once stood, her shoulders slumped slightly then they straightened up. Wait maybe she could travel with Rystix while they took him home, she looked at Abner who gave a nod.
The Vulcan scientist who had arrived remarked,
"I shall take my leave, and-" he looked at T'Par, "You may travel with us. And any others if they so choose.
"Thank you," T'Par answered. "I do still wish to speak to Rystix."
"I'd like to talk with Rystix too." JK said.
