Mission: A Day In The Life
Location: Medical

Previously...

The bubble settling around her, Lily relaxed against the slightly inclined, bio bed. "I really hate this, but I promise to be a bear."

And now the continuation

She did feel a bit uneasy about this as a memory came up from the deep recesses of her mind. It was that of a hospital bed, being in worse shape than she was now. her heartrate kicked up. Lily clasped her slightly trembling hands together, fingers intertwined, closing her eyes. She began her breathing exercises to get herself back into a calmer frame of mind.

Monitoring her, Cade busied himself with updating her chart, giving her a moment to herself though he could feel the fresh surge of emotions as her mind relived the experiences. After a couple of minutes he adjusted the lights above the bed till he saw her react enough to find a starting comfort level. He adjusted the ambient temperature to something that was just on the chilly side to encourage her to rest when she could and he finally retrieved a weighted blanket from a cubby.

Then he said, "It sounds like a trying experience, but the important thing to remember is you're safe here and nothing, save me and my minions, will have access to you." He grinned, to put her at ease before continuing, "And when you're ready to speak on anything at all, I am at your beck and call."

Her charts would read that she'd not been to medical for awhile and this included visiting counseling.

There was a notation from Jasmine, as to Lily ducking away from doing any talking. She was more than willing to talk about other things, but not herself or anything that seemed to be bothering her.

Lily was making herself comfortable, well trying to. She just doesn't like being on the receiving end of things. It was true when they say Doctors are the worst patients.

Cade felt the wall of stubborn come up and he shut down the PADD looking her over and said. "You obviously know whats in your own charts. Why so obstinate in having a talk with charming fellows such as me. Like," he drew it out slightly as if thinking about it,"Tell your favorite thing to do that's not work."

A steady look at Cade then, Lily could feel the lifting of the corner of her mouth, even though she fought it.

She gave out a slightly huffy sigh.

"I just.. don't like talking about myself. Though things that I like to do that's not work. I play the piano.I like to garden. I like to cook. And I like to read."

Lily could have given out more but, she wasn't feeling like being more forthcoming. As what she said Lily didn't like talking about herself much.

She just wasn't wired that way.

"Good. You have outlets and that's healthy," Cade said approvingly, feigning making a note on his PADD before looking up to Lily's eyes and winked. "What drives you around the bend then, other than good looking doctors asking you all sorts of questions?"

Lily gave a quiet laugh, then winced.

"My, you are a bit of a flirt." she said with a twinkle in her eyes. "Good bedside manners. And rather disarming. All right, I will try to be a good patient. "

She paused, a curious expression in her eyes.

"Full Betazed, do you happen to know a woman by the name of Aisanna Denae?"

Not that every Betazoid would know of each other but, Lily was wondering, and, Aisanna, there seemed to more to her than met the eye.

Cade considered for a moment and asked. "Brunette with grey eyes. About one hundred and forty six centimeters. Fifty two kilo's. Mole just above her inner right knee?"

A little bit of a laugh from Lily, "No, that isn't the Aisanna I am talking about." She squinted at Cade "That certainly seemed very specific though."

Adjusting herself slightly, to where she felt more comfortable, and also relieved in away that it seemed that Cade did not know her mother's friend and her teacher Aisanna Denae.

"Doesn't sound like the Asianna I knew," Cade agreed. "Never did get her last name.."

"Now," he says. "You're readouts are settling nicely and your skin is starting to keep it's color after talking with me, so I think you're on the road to recovery. If you hang out and give me roughly an hour, I think I can let you retreat to your quarters, take the next watch off-duty and you'll be alright to return to duty. Then I'll schedule an afternoon lunch for us next week and we can shoot the breeze as they say? Or you can invite me to dinner and we can talk there."

"Alright, I'll give you- this- an hour. and I'll behave and not run away." Lily answered her cheeks flushing warm again.

The man certainly was quite incorrigible.

"As for dinner in my place. I will have to think about it but, we can have lunch and shoot the breeze. Or.. actually."

A contemplative look came into her eyes.

"Or- instead of having a conversation in an office or even at lunch. How about in the holodeck that doesn't have the feeling of being enclosed. " Lily looking at Cade. "It actually would be something I would prefer, when having a conversation."

Cade regarded her for a moment and said, "I understand. You'd rather a place where there is privacy..but not in your private space. I can respect that. Why don't you pick a program and send me a time within the next week and we'll do that."

"I will do so." Lily relaxing a bit more.

A thoughtful expression appeared, "Hmmnn out of all the counselors I've seen and know. I think you are the first one I've actually made a suggestion to have a conversation or discussion on a holodeck. You have definitely made me feel comfortable, enough to even suggest that." Lily smiling once more.

Cade bowed lightly, and dialed the lights down over Lily, and brought up the privacy field. "Good. So take your hour. Rest. The privacy field is up so you can listen to music or a narrative and the the sound localizes about the pillow." Then he stepped back and through the semi-transparent, shimmering field that dropped around the bed.

He activated his earbud and said. "Patient, Lieutenant Lily Marlow presented with some dehydration, possible shock. Subject agreed to an hour...which I think we'll stretch into a few hours by introducing a sleep aide to the oxygen cloud. Then she may return to quarters after dermal regenerative treatments for the areas of skin that need it. Amend her duty schedules to reflect light-duty options. If she insists on working, she can do so from her quarters until cleared by myself or the CMO."

Cade continued to make notes verbally as he adjusted Lily's field to incorporate the extra oxygen and snuck in a light sleep aide and instructions for the staff.

"Further counseling for this subject will be difficult. She is approximately six months past previous counseling update and I suspect the ones before were done at phaser point. Extra measures will be required for full evaluation."

Once he had her privacy environment established and medication orders in, Cade moved on to his next patient.
