As a doctor and counselor, she has a strong sense of compassion and respect for others, particularly when dealing with matters of the mind. Despite her serious side, Aisanna has a playful sense of humor and an abiding curiosity that has never quite left her. |
|
| Strengths & Weaknesses | Aisanna is patient, compassionate and a good listener, with an ability to notice small details and make connections that may not be immediately apparent. Her years as a doctor and counselor have taught her to remain calm in difficult situations and to consider what lies beneath the surface. Her curiosity, however, can sometimes lead her to become involved in matters that might be better left alone, and once something has caught her attention she can have a difficult time letting it go. | |
| Ambitions | To continue helping others through her knowledge and experience for as long as she is able. | |
| Hobbies & Interests | Dancing has remained one of Aisanna's greatest loves throughout her life, and she still dances whenever the opportunity presents itself. She enjoys reading, particularly anything which catches her curiosity, as well as a good cup of tea and spending time with her family and friends. |
| Personal History | Aisanna Denae was born and raised on Betazed, the daughter of Eirim and Elsae Denae. From an early age she developed two interests which would remain with her throughout her life, medicine and dancing. While dancing became something she pursued for the love of it, medicine became her chosen profession. After completing her education, Aisanna became a doctor and later expanded her work into counseling. She found that her Betazoid abilities, combined with her medical training, gave her a particular understanding of patients dealing with trauma and difficult memories. Over the years she also spent time teaching, passing along some of what she had learned to another generation of medical students. Aisanna met and eventually married Adam Letsul, whose Starfleet career meant that much of their family life was spent traveling. Together they had five children: Elias, Robert, twins Tabia and Tira, and Cara. Although Aisanna was never a Starfleet officer herself, she continued her work while accompanying Adam and became familiar with life aboard Starfleet vessels. Their youngest daughter, Cara, was born aboard the USS Venture. As her children grew older, Aisanna returned more fully to medicine, counseling and teaching. Her work occasionally brought her into contact with both Starfleet and members of the Betazoid intelligence community, giving her a familiarity with that world without ever becoming a part of it herself. Among those Aisanna would eventually teach was Lily Marlow, the daughter of her longtime friend Dr. Vivian Marlow. Aisanna has never completely retired from helping others. Though she has slowed down somewhat over the years, she remains active, continues to dance and still lends her knowledge and experience when she feels she can make a difference. |
