Continued:"There is one other massage I do know how to do and that is Ashiatsu" Lily turned towards Elijah "Don't you dare, don't need you to say bless you."
Elijah closed his mouth quickly. Then he said with a slight smirk. "That treatment is the only time you get to walk all over me."
Raf dropped his head shaking it, he had a feeling this was going to be an interesting assignment. "Well, good to know that there's a masseuse on staff."
Lily chuckled at Raf's reaction. "Bet you didn't expect that."
=================================================
Elijah gave out a laugh,"As you can see, we know each other, and are friends." his gaze sobered though.
"I do recall that you are half deltan and half human. That was on the front part of your file. I am a little bit concerned, as to how that is going to affect your interaction with those who come to see you. And do you have an oath of celibacy in place?"
He smirked a bit as the question was a familiar one. "While rare for a full Deltan to serve on a starship it does happen. The attraction other races feel is cause by pheromones and a sub-conscious telepathy we possess. But even with this a full blooded Deltan can interact generally without issue with other races. Though the less disciplined, the less mature the individual the greater the...distractions can me. Thus the oath of celibacy for full blooded Deltans serving in the Federation. Most Deltans don't serve because they don't feel most races are mature enough. That and full intimacy with a Deltan can cause insanity for the other race. However when a non-Deltan is slowly initiated to deeper and deeper mental connections further intimacy can take place." Holding his hands up, "Thus the occasional half breed.
"Now...", putting a hand on his chest, "...us half Deltans can interact a great deal better. Yes, we do produce the same pheromones, but at a lower level. Most don't have the sub-conscious telepathy which greatly reduces out impact on others. We are still empathic and can safely make deep mental connections with those we are intimate with."
"That all said...IF I were in a confined space without ventilation; a shuttle with failing life-support as an example. In that situation my pheromones would build up and would eventually uncomfortable for any woman with me.
Turning to his fellow medical officer. "Lily. Have you felt uncomfortable around me? Any feelings of attraction?" Adding a little 'tongue-in-cheek', "I mean other than the normal flush from meeting a tall, dark, and handsome gentleman."
"You know-this is the first time I've been around you, Raf" color rising in her cheeks. "And my how direct you are."
Lily glanced over towards Elijah who was fighting hard to keep a straight face, narrowing her eyes towards him. She turned her gaze back to Raf.
"I am not feeling uncomfortable around you. And yes you are attractive." Lily contemplated for a moment,
"Hmmmnnn having an attraction, I would be considered dead if my heart didn't skip a beat" Lily raised an index finger, as if to forestall an answer from Raf.
"There is, though, someone who I have a much stronger attraction to, and he makes my heart race something fierce." Lily gave a bit of a smile thinking of Orin, but not uttering his name.
His hand slapped his chest as he tipped his head back. "Ahh. You wound me...shot down so soon. Ahhh" Ending his performance with a grin. "In all seriousness though, I'm glad to hear that you have someone. Is he onboard?"
Elijah was interested as well in hearing this, turning his keen hazel eyes towards Lily.
"Do tell." Elijah having an amused smile.
Lily's face turned beet red, having both men zeroing in on her. "Well, yes he's onboard but, I'm not going to tell you who it is. Its...well private, okay?" feeling rather flustered about this.
Coming to the aid of his medical officer, "Absolutely. Every woman has hear secrets."
Looking back to the Captain. "Wasn't there supposed to be a tour?"
"Ah yes, we'll get that." As Elijah made his way deeper into medical, checking on what was there, where the bio-beds were and the medical labs plus storage. It was a quick tour.
Once it was done, Elijah turned to Raf. "I think we'll be able to work together and welcome aboard the Orcrist. Do you have any other questions you'd like to ask me?"
Having thought the tour was going to around the ship, he simply grinned as he shook his head. "No sir, and thank you Captain. I look forward to getting back out there. I do need to finish unpacking, but I should make my introductions with the XO."
"In that case I shall head on out and leave the two of you to discuss things as to medical details. Raf, Lily, I will see you later." he turned on his heel and left medical.
"Well now." Lily scratched the back of her head, then looked at Raf. "That my dear doctor is the Captain." giving a slight chuckle.
"Hmm...and here I thought he was referring to a tour of the ship. Why would a CMO need a tour of medical facilities? Oh well...". Turning to Lily, "So any of the crew have any medical surprises I should know about?"
"Everyone is healthy, they passed their physicals. No surprises to speak of. I don't know, not much information but that is about it." A pause, Lily added, "I think that the Captain just wanted to have a brief tour of medical."
Raf cocked his head as he thought back over things, snickering. "Well if that's the case he probably thinks I'm a piss poor tour guide. On a more serious note. There was one thing I want to discuss."
Lily was attentive to this. "Yes Doctor?"
"I did review the records for the medical staff and saw that you were once the CMO, but stepped down. Was there a specific reason?"
There it was, the question.
"Well, I felt that I would do better at a lower position as part of the staff. Don't get me wrong, I am capable of being CMO, just that with my varied skills, I felt I would be more of a service, to the crew. Especially after our encounter with that station, run by holograms and a crazy AI, named Adna."
A momentary pause, "There is someone you may want to get to know, and that would be T'seng, our chief diplomat. She is an interesting person, since she was found on Adna Station, in an ancient stasis chamber, keeping her alive and being guarded by a dragon."
His head tilted slightly as his eyebrows shot up, "Really? A dragon dragon?"
"Guardian, he is a rather intriguing, mechanical, um animatronic dragon. He isn't made of flesh. Whoever made him was a skilled craftsman. " Lily had a fond look in her eyes as she spoke of him.
"Well that you don't hear about everyday. Sounds like one of those medieval stories of knights in armor and damsels in secluded castles being guarded by ferocious dragons. How long was she in stasis?"
"She had been in stasis for 20 years, awaiting treatment for her heart. The operation had been taken care of, and now she is walking around the ship. Perhaps you would like to check on her for a follow up?" Lily giving a smile.
"Well I will definitely review her records. I mean a follow up on a cardiac case is never a bad idea but if everything is in order there's no need to get heavy handed. Maybe after I get unpacked I'll stop by her office for an informal visit."
Lily gave a nod at that statement. "I agree, speaking of getting unpacked. I'm going to have to do that myself, I have boxes I've not opened. And just need to figure out some Feng Shui, for my quarters." she looked at Raf, "Well guess this is goodbye for now?"
With a grin Raf nodded, "By all means. Go Fung your Shui and I will see you later."
"See you later, then." Lily gave a wave and a laugh as she turned towards the exit. It was going to be interesting working with Raf, she hoped that this CMO will last longer then the others. She was tired of breaking in new CMO's and then them leaving.
Another thought crossed her mind as she continued out of medical. Of course the two medical officers that did leave she was quite thankful they did leave.
The one who had come back to the Majestic, she left when the ship was called back. New ship, new medical. Is proving promising.
Raf walked the sickbay again ending in his office a lot quicker than it had taken back on DS4. taking up the padd and leaning back in the chair he looked over the entire inventory, maximum number of crew the ship if fully manned, and the evacuation capacity looking to see if there was anything needing to be requisitioned before they left spacedock.
