CoB JK Weatherly walked into the Science Department, PADD in hand.

She looked around at the Scientists and the equipment. Some of it she recognized , some looked somewhat familiar, but the rest was just alien to her.

WO Anuki Toku approached the newcomer. "Can I be of assistance, Ma'am?" The Saurian asked.

"Good day, Warrant, can you direct me to Lieutenant Commander T'Par?" JK asked.

"Yes, I believe she is in her office, Ma'am." Anuki answered.

"Thank you, Warrant, what is it you do around here?"

"I'm a biologist specializing in zoology Ma'am." Anuki said.

"Interesting, good day, Warrant."

"Thank you, and to you, Ma'am." Anuki said and returned to his work.

The El-Aurian made her way to the Chief Science Officer's Office, and activated the chime.

"Come," T'Par said. She looked up from the console as Jemimah entered. "Good afternoon, Chief."

"Good afternoon, Commander, I'm here to get better acquainted with you and your enlisted staff, I'd like to see any performance reports you have on them, please?" JK said.

'Certainly, Chief," T'Par said, pressing a few buttons on her console. "You are authorized to access them. They all have excellent service records."

"Thank you, Commander." JK said. "So, what's your specialty?"

"Anthropology primarily," T'Par said, "though, to serve as chief science officer on a starship, one must develop a working knowledge of many sciences."

"Anthropology, perhaps I could share with you, what I've learnt from my interactions with cultures not well known to the Federation." JK said.

"I would find that fascinating," T'Par said.

"Good, I'll get my notes together and we can go through them sometime." JK said. "I found the K'ktatix most interesting. They are an insectoid race that ingest duranium alloy and other materials, then like terran spiders spin it into buildings and starship hulls."

"I would certainly be interested to learn more," T'Par said.

"Okay, I'll contact you to arrange a time." JK said. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Commander."

"Thank you," T'Par said.
